You may, at some point, have to take off your artificial eyelashes and remove all that eyelash extension glue. You may have gone out or needed to wear them for a special event. It isn’t difficult to remove your false eyelashes, especially if you went through the process of putting them on.

It is wise to take off fake eyelashes prior to going to bed for the night. You can do this by simply utilizing a warm compress or a quality makeup remover. In order to keep your fake eyelashes in good repair, you need to soak them in an eye cleaning solution between wear.

TIP: To avoid ripping your skin or pulling out your natural lashes, NEVER pull the fake lashes from your eyelid. And do not apply the glue directly to the eyelid — you could get it in your eye or actually glue an eye shut!

Remove the fake eyelashes by taking hold of the inside edge (next to your nose) and using a slow, gentle motion to pull the lash toward the ear.

You want to use a cotton swat to apply fake eyelash remover to your eyelids. To apply the eyelash remover, apply a small amount along your lash line. You want to apply it from the outside of your eye to the inside. If you do not have access to eyelash remover, you may use eye makeup remover to do the job.

When the glue has softened completely, hold one corner of the lash band and gently pull it away from your eyelid. Tweezers are the best tool to use if you need to remove individual eyelashes.

You may also want to try using petroleum jelly. This typically works to loosen the lashes, allowing them to be taken off by applying warm water. There are many people who simply use soap and water. Other people state that olive oil will help to loosen the glue.

If you are able to keep your fake eyelashes clean and in a sterile environment, you should be able to reuse them. After you have removed the fake eyelashes, clean them in soap water and store them in a container with some kind of eye cleaning solution. To be certain they are clean, you also want to take the time to clean them again before you put them back on.
