If you want to change how you look, there are a number of things you can do. Sometimes those changes are subtle and sometimes they are more dramatic. Either way, there is a way that colored contact lenses can play a part in your plans. They are sometimes known as cosmetic contact lenses but in this article we will call them non corrective colored contacts and we will take a minute to explain the steps to getting them.
If you think about it, colored contacts are really just like regular contact lenses. You will put them in and remove them just like normal contacts and even care for them in the same way. The difference is that they have color in them that changes your eye color by using a different color instead of the normal color of the iris of your eye. There is enough room where it is clear so that the pupils of your eyes can see through them just fine.
When we are talking about colored contacts, you have to think about which kind you want to get but that will depend on the color of your eyes now. People with dark colored eyes will need to get opaque colored contacts while people with light colored eyes could get them also or go with enhancement tint lenses. What the opaques do is totally block out the color of your eyes so that a new color is seen. With enhancement lenses, some of your normal eye color does show through.
If you wear contact lenses already, then it is really easy to get colored ones. You will just order your normal contacts with their prescription but instead apply your prescription to colored lenses. There are brands like Acuvue Colors that you will order instead. If you do not wear contact lenses now, then the kind you will get are called non corrective colored contacts as they do not offer you any vision correction.
In most areas, you will need to get a prescription. This is because they are considered to be medical devices by law. This is true in countries like the United States, Canada and England. Getting one is fairly simple and it is a good thing to go see your eye doctor.
You should care for your colored contact lenses just like you would for a normal pair of contacts. Always change out the contact lens cleaning solution – remember to pick one brand and stay with it, too. Make sure you hands are clean before handling them or touching your eyes. Keep that contact lens case clean and change it out every month or so, too.
Colored contacts without prescription are something you should definitely research quite a bit before ordering. Learn more so that you can get the right kind and not waste your money or get ones that are too cheap and hurt your eyes.
